Inland Empire 2006
An absolutely bonkers nightmare of a film, and my new favorite of Lynch’s. Despite being an unapologetic mess to follow and piece together, you can’t help but sit back in awe at how the hell it was even made in the first place.
Rest in peace to a true one-of-a-kind.

jeanne dielman does not care if you are entertained. in fact, the static cinematography documenting 200 minutes of every daily mundane chore is meticulously crafted and thought out to purposely bore the viewer; emphasizing the dull, grueling monotony of an unappreciated widow just trying to live.
not sure how my opinion/rating will change in the future, but it’s a unique film experience I won’t soon forget. tread lightly..

There’s no glorification of war to be found here - a darkly comedic yet brutal gut punch, with one of the best third acts I’ve ever seen. Incredible film, and one I’ll be thinking about for quite some time.
