Assa 1987
Really liked this one a lot, i seem to like films with little vignettes or smaller storylines in them, Jonas Mekas and Fallen Angels 1995 come to mind- Assa is the furthest the stories in the film are from one another- while it's true that they share the general area of Petrograd and Moscow, the time periods from the 1990s to the early 1800s, the constant parallels between these stories are very interesting- how someone in the near-collapse soviet union contend with their contemporary world as well as their own history. Also the music in this one slaps
