  ohhhh this was good... loved the steady, almost agonizing pacing, as the day in which the movie takes place draws to a close and badii's dread/desperation grows... loved the ending & what it conjured emotionally...

  thankfully found a way to watch this in arabic (kanopy has it, but it's dubbed???). "we are either to accept the occupation forever or disappear"... having just watched the battle of algiers recently, the line "if we had airplanes, we wouldn't need martyrs!" echoes "if we had your airplanes it would be a lot easier for us... give us your bombers, and you can have our baskets" - that same throughline of revolutionary struggle in algeria & palestine alike
