  This needed a much better director. The script is clever at times but not my favorite. Every social interaction is unnatural in some way and/or too plot focused. It needed to be more surreal to pull that dialogue off and I think it tried to use NYC to pull that off and I think it failed. I did not like the NYC depiction of this film.
  Saved by three very good performance. It is worth a watch to watch Oswald that character and actor were great.
  Edward/guy is written only to serve narrative function. Many things in this movie noticably are.

  A challenging movie in more ways than one. Very powerful film when it hits, which is often. Slow tho. Strikes a balance that never ever leaves the suffering but also never exploits trauma. Many images and visual motifs that went over my head I think. Editing and time play are peak. A movie that stands strong on its ending (provides that fourth star imo.) Strong strong script; "this isn't the fight."

  What a very nice family, real shame about the dictatorship. If I weren't such a commie I'd want to be in Brazil in 1970, looked nice.
  Interesting story, got a lil bored.
