    uhhh...

I LOVED the texture of this film, Laura Dern is stellar as always, and the sound is incredible.

As to what actually happened in the 3 hours after I pressed play... I wish knew.
I could grasp concepts here and there but boy does Lynch put you through the ringer here. Will definitely watch again, but hopefully not anytime too soon. I need to let it simmer for a while.

In the meantime I'll probably rewatch The Return (to which I noticed a lot of references here, or does the Return have references to this? I don't even know anymore) to cap off the Lynchathon.

Everyone dies eventually and while that's really sad, we're all there for eachother in the meantime.

Second to last of Lynch's feature length entries I hadn't seen, and I'm really glad I put off the "Lynchathon" to catch it in a cinema. A beautiful story about growing old and seeing the world pass you by.

I can't believe I only have Inland Empire left, really hope that one hits!

just the pilot this time, because I had to put on something to process what just happened. I can't believe he's really gone...

Thank you for everything Mr. Lynch, you will be greatly missed, and may you rest in peace.

    Conclave

I love the way this is shot. They somehow made the camera feel like one of the cardinals. We're shown the titular conclave through a lens that brilliantly puts us in the robes of the characters we're watching. The wide shots, the static shots, the wide static shots, the stiff, calculated, yet graceful long takes. It's a delight to look at throug and through.

I adored the sound editing and the overall editing aswell. A wonderfull variety in the cuts…
