This is brilliant movie. The story is not unique, but this reading of it has an originality that breathes fresh life into the plot.
Al Pacino’s acting is nothing short of stunning. I don’t know if he got an Academy award for this role but looking back he should’ve.
If you’re thinking of watching this movie, do it, even if you’ve seen it before. It is the thing of true beauty. Watching it will be time well spent especially if you watch it with a friend or a loved one.

I didn’t know if I was going to make it through this movie, but I did and I’m glad I stuck it out.
The first hour and a half of the movie is background and context setting. The last half hour is excitement.
It’s cool to see the cars from the 80s and Willie Nelson who apparently is ageless.
Thief is worth a watch but temper your expectations.
