    My Daemon

Animated by a Thai team and dubbed in Japanese (star-studded VA cast tbh), this unique series fell upon my lap on the week of its 2023 release, and I was pleasantly surprised by its striking animation and driven storytelling. Although it follows some traditional Japanese anime tropes, the direction choices keep viewers engaged. Bumping up the My Daemon score, as I just rewatched this with family recently.

I've never been a hater of CG anime like some others are. Maybe…

Choose Your Pick: Feathers x Gromit vs. Wallace x Gromit

Feathers the diva that you are ... whack them again for me!

Funny lil interaction while I was watching the movie:
"Why are the people so scary looking?"
    "Oh that's just the sty-"
    "Because they're British"

Also - Aardvark Animations has always been a lil off-putting to me with certain film scenes, so that's to say... I wouldn't be surprised if those gnomes left some children deeply disturbed.

This piece conveys how in "looking back," you can be reminded of why you must keep moving forward. In the case of an artist, the long arduous roads of making art are lined with people that have been touched by the work. However, it is also easy…

    Minari

    ★★★★½

What a wonderful film. The heart is so tender yet so strong. I could feel how desperation guided this family and also tugged them away from each other. Minari is a plant that classifies as invasive in certain parts of the US, but it is what kept this family together. One must remember their roots - for that is what will help us remain resilient.

I love how symbolic everything felt. The walking to running to walking, minari, fire, water,…
