An interesting story about workers throwing off their shackles. Beautiful, creative sets. Plus some ground breaking techniques used. I loved how well the roles were portrayed, the acting getting their point across without the need of words. Just, w really great film all around.

Crimson Peak 2015
A woman is whisked away with her lover to his decrepit house along with his sister. They're working on rebuilding, but the house itself doesn't even seem worth saving. There's something nefarious going on here, and she's slowly figuring it out. I loved the lighting in this film, it made the sets look perfectly creepy. The use of colour through the film was great as well. A wonderful setting to go along with this thrilling story.

Taxi Driver 1976
A loner who has a hard time understanding people tries to make connections and do something with himself. In more ways that I'd like I found myself relating and feeling for the main character, a man truly just alone in this world. Charismatic enough to make surface level connections, but has difficulty with anything deeper. I was concerned with how he was planning on directing his energy, but somehow things work out. I would love to understand more about the main character and his motivations. I believe there are still many people like him in our slightly more modern world, and I feel for them.

Parasite 2019
A poor family takes advantage of a well off one. They get inside, one by one, and remove the old staff. At the beginning you might even be rooting for them, they're doing what they can to get by, but then they start making it difficult for the other staff and ruin their reputations and lives. A bit harder to root for them now. Things start getting out of hand and the stress builds until the end. A great watch.
