It’s decent I guess, a lot is cut out of the book that would’ve helped make certain plot points make sense. I did enjoy President Snow getting more of a focus and buildup to central villain than what’s on offer in the novel. Hope that the next entries are better frankly

Gladiator 2000
I watched the extended cut, and for a damn near 3 hour film it still keeps the originals consistently steady pacing. My favorite Ridley Scott movie as of right now (I would say Alien but I feel that while that film is more important to the industry it doesn’t have a variety of well written characters on offer here.) My original complaint as to Commodus trying to be physical during the final fight when he’s clearly more intelligent than anything…

Kingdom of Heaven 2005
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Coming from Gladiator, this feels like a step down for Scott as a director. His beautiful wide shots, pan outs, and well crafted characterization are still in force, but without a clear cut narrative it comes off more inauthentic than natural. Balian is interesting as a protagonist with his atypical religious beliefs for the time, but Scott fails to answer important details to his background that keep him from really getting empathy from the audience. Man of Steel 2013
Really solid, great characterization, shots, and pacing. Nothings really rushed, just a couple continuity moments that took me out of the movie for a little bit. Snyder must not have figured out how to choreograph hand to hand fights as Zor El’s battle on Krypton is full of awkward cuts that are far from seamless. Zod was a standout and I’m glad we get enough information on him to understand his motives but not fully commit to seeing him as an anti hero. Definitely my favorite dceu movie, and as a blockbuster this definitely fulfills that itch for action and spectacle.
