Mafia movies by Scorsese are as good as ice cold water when you wake up in at 3am. They’re the realization that you have more time to sleep in, or the event you were dreading got cancelled. This is just a fantastic story of the rise and fall of the mafia hit man. Characters are well developed, scenes easily pull you in to feel the emotion and worry about what will come next. 4.5/5

Drive 2011
God what a good movie. Ryan Gosling does such a good job by letting the environment take over the scene and the plot, and he is just the tool driving the narrative. Great use of a quiet soft spoken character that allows other people to drive (no pun intended) the storyline. This movie relies on quietness so well that it just creates strong emotions in its development. 4.25/5 great option to pick for movie night.

Is A24 cinematography impeccable? Yes. Is this movie still a loose representation of a Sci-Fi Horror? Yes. Besides a few more “aggressive” scenes, there is little suspense or tension. The space traveler narrative seems to be a makeshift way to confine the characters to a single location, as 90% of the movie revolves more around human experiments for reproduction, with a couple splashes of black hole discussion. A 5 star film for its true commitment to the storyline and message. Lot of mainstream out opportunities could have been taken but this movie remains focused on about fascist regimes and citizen unity against their own imprisonment. Every time you purchase political memorabilia or take the side of a politician like they are your friend or family you should rewatch this movie to remember what political rhetoric can do. 5/5 Remember the 5th of November.
