  a film that sees life as epic and random, not in a literary sense, but in the way that those words are used by redditors. it feels very painfully of its time and generation, with superhero pacing, semi-ironic death drive, soy banter and burnout. it's a late millennial Scott Pilgrim.

  I had fun with it for a while and then it all collapsed under its own weight. the scene with the talking rocks epitomised it well – a relatively juvenile pop-philosophy idea buttressed by Family Guy vignettes. you may feel awful all the time but have you ever tried....being kind?
