Poor Things 2023
I loved how uncomfortable the sounds, color and lenses make you feel. Starting the movie black and white and adding color as the character develops was a great way to highlight bella’s internal style and feelings. The usage of negative space revealing the utopian worlds correlated perfectly with that child sense slowly fading as the worlds become more realistic. The color palate also contributed to show bella’s colorful, childlike mind. Apart from the amazing techniques behind, the movie is definitely something different. Each character is designed perfectly to complement each other. Very much enjoyed even though i hated the french + chicken combination.
