Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl 2003
Best movie of Depp’s career. Knightly’s performance belies her age. The plot is the brilliantly developed with each character taking ownership of his/her storyline and growth. Every time I watch this film, I find new nuggets of humor and motivation within the characters. I watched this movie in the Caribbean during my trip to the DR and I’ll tell you now, it hit different.

The best murder mystery movie in the past decade! The plot twists and turns in unexpected yet earnest ways. Ana de Armas truly steals the show with her heartfelt performance. The supporting cast infuses a balance a comedy and sympathy. Certainly holds up on a rewatch, too.
