Honestly a breath of fresh air watching a classic like this. The narration mixed with the straight forward story telling, and showing that astrology girls have not changed since 1950 made for this enjoyable and hilarious at times.

2001: A Space Odyssey 1968
Oddly refreshing seeing the blueprint for sci fi in movies, and how much of what this movies does still be replicated almost 60 years later. I do think the choice of semi nonlinear storytelling was interesting, as it was just taking us along on the ride and asking the viewer to keep up. I do think the Dawn of Man section and the Ego Death/“black hole” section in the end ran for little long, this could easily be 15 minutes shorter but I can also understand trying to get as immersed as possible. Overall really good time.

Rocky II 1979
Haven’t event watched it again but I’ve just been thinking about the Rocky movies again, specifically this one, and I’m certain I’ve convinced myself this is the greatest sports movie of all time.
Has to be in the conversation for perfect sequel/rare second movie that’s better than the first.
