No Country for Old Men 2007
The tension that this movie is able to build is insane. Although a slow-burner at points, overall this film had me practically on the edge of my seat. Javier Bardem gives one of the most unsettling performances of a psychopath that I’ve personally seen.

Despite being set in a futuristic world that we can only imagine, and filled with technology we don’t have, this movie really explores the depths of “I think therefore I am” What does it mean to be alive? What does it mean to be human? Can or should life be manufactured? Although far away from the reality I live in now, this movie really helps me…

An absolute classic. Besides the occasional misogyny that’s pretty standard for movies from this time, you really can’t go wrong with this one. Super entertaining and a gem for lovers of history, action, and adventure.
