Beautifully shot and directed with tight pacing and dialogue. Not being able to access characters thoughts and emotions serves the narrative of the dispensable soldiers on the front lines.

Robert Pattinson is capable of incredibly niche and quirky performances like this where his abilities really shine through. I can’t think of another actor capable of really pulling off these kinds of roles, but the setting and the story are a letdown for how hyped this movie was before release. Still a fun watch, but the movie is surprisingly cluttered and confusing. It feels like it doesn’t know what to be, and that leaves the audience just as lost.
