this film doesn’t deserve this much praise, the story is wack, the acting is also not so good. i get it, they tried to give this film a bit complexity but it definitely didn’t work.

it definitely had a potential but it was wasted. especially the last scene was sooo unnecessary and cheap. it left a very bad aftertaste ngl. the film keeps you on the edge for the first half but after that everything just falls apart. it doesn’t have a proper story telling, the story just cumulatively grows and changes. i’d call this film a waste of time unfortunately.
whew, what can i say? everything was perfect in this film. the scenes, the acting , the angles and the crossovers… the last scene was a chef’s kiss.
it was raw and harsh, takes time to digest it fully. the son’s gaslighting was definitely on point, he was the “perfect” narcissist.
i’ve felt the mother’s love for entire time. even though it was a horror film, it felt so warm and welcoming.
i’ve found lots of pieces of myself in this film. it held me close for entire time. abbas kiarosthani never disappoints.
