Didn’t know the cast was as stacked as it was. Maybe the hottest I’ve ever seen Blanchett, maybe the hottest I’ve ever seen Fassbender. Fun as hell, score’s real good, a super tight and brisk picture that gets you roped in reeeal quick

Blackhat 2015
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Not sure how to compare this to my original viewing of this film, since this time I watched the Director’s Cut (Arrow’s release late last year; weirdly the DX is only 1080p while the original & international cut is the 4K remaster?). Old man yells at future
But also Coppola is yelling at current generations? Is he insanely myopic at this point? This movie was bombast and excess and not in a way that stylistically jives with its portrayal of excess, I mean the CG and Volume usage were overt and awful. Ad Astra 2019
Christened the 4K player with this today. Feeling blessed beyond the stars. Ad Astra’s an all-timer for me. Outrageously beautiful, phenomenal score, brillllliant performance from Pitt. His range is unquestionable. Hoytema needs every bit of recognition we can muster for this, just watch the way the camera moves as McBride walks through the tunnels on Mars. This is a film that seeps into you as the loneliness seeps into McBride. Masterful.
“I am looking forward to the day my solitude ends, and I am home.”
