The fact that this is a true story really adds to the message of this film and the impact one person can make when they're open to learn about others lives. The conversation around the connection of the nazis and gangs is terrifyingly relevant to today and as the film progresses, it shows how important education is to learn empathy and stand up for injustice. I also like the small detail of Mrs G continuing to wear her pearls to school everyday when all the other teachers insinuate they'll get stolen as their prejudice is deep rooted. I wish their attitudes could have been changed too.
