A folk horror classic!
Intriguing yet unsettling story as a christian detective arrives at a remote island to investigate a missing child. As the mysteries unfolds, it becomes clear that all of its habitants are immersed in a pagan culture filled with all sorts of unique rituals and traditions.
The narrative is straightforward and easy to follow and the acting is fine - worth noting Christopher Lee's character, that adds even more depth to the unsettling atmosphere. The plot builds the tension effectively and has a good - although somewhat expected - twist at the end.
