The Creator 2023
Visually stunning enough to almost make you forget the gaping plot holes and empty characters. Had the potential to tackle some big themes like slavery, imperialism, what it means to be human, etc... but instead went the way of "minorities are collateral damage" and "the hero will do anything to see his wife again" and "a child can change everything" tropes.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This movie tried to do way too much. The core of the story was good and the actual sci-fi bits involving the missions and inevitable setbacks were interesting, fun and gave the right amount of tension.
But all the rest, trying to tie in people's family lives, digital life extension, etc felt very unnecessary (family stuff) or handled very clumsily (life extension). Some of the motivations of certain groups were unclear, and action sequences were just overwrought disaster porn.
