Mickey 17 2025
First off, Robert Pattinson did a phenomenal job in what had to be an incredibly challenging role.
Overall, I really enjoyed the movie. The sci-fi world they created is super compelling. The concepts have some very interesting implications that were explored in a very interesting way. It was so interesting that the hook from the trailer was actually the least interesting part for me.
The only criticism I have is with some of the character moments. I fully understand that…

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie 2024

Wander to Wonder 2023
This short was bleak. And not because it was telling a story that needed that darkness. It was just bleak for bleakness‘s sake. There was a great premise hidden in there. The inciting incident had so much potential for an interesting story. But then they wasted it with the most miserable ideas they could think of to show off the (admittedly) beautifully done animation.

MaXXXine 2024
I liked seeing this character and world flourish in the decade after X. But it was such an unnecessary sequel. There are stories to tell in this universe with characters from previous movies in the series. But this didn’t move Maxine’s story forward or add to the narrative of the others in a fun or interesting way. I would have been just as satisfied if Ti West had simply said “Maxine did well in her chosen profession” at a press conference.
