  I must have taken this way too seriously in 2008, but this movie is fun. Nuke fridge, Shia LaBeouf swinging with his monkey friends, Cate Blanchett switching accents every third word, it’s supposed to be goofy. The whole series is supposed to be goofy (see “KAAALLIII MAAAA”, 1984).

  Lots of practical effects that feel like the Disneyland ride. Also lots of cgi meerkats that ILM must have borrowed from Phantom Menace.
