Blake Edwards is really good at filming parties, especially from the perspective of the guy who’s just there, doesn’t quite know who to talk to or where to go.

Despite the 80’s corniness, this movie is simultaneously shocking and heartbreaking. I think the people that made fun of this movie haven’t actually seen it. Imagine being a high school student and seeing your entire school shot up by a foreign army. Would you rise to the occasion and resist? Would you be brave enough? Do you kill traitors? Who’s considered a traitor? This movie asks these questions. This movie didn’t come across as glorifying war, but it did a good job of glorifying bravery.
