I went into this completely blind, and was incredibly moved.
There were multiple points that I thought the film would end, that the family had suffered enough. But they kept on living.
I almost whispered to my friend at the start that they were the perfect family.
My final thoughts were about how much she truly loved Rubens, and how beautiful and deeply painful that was for her.

This shaped my teenage years, I found it whilst searching for what the main actor was doing after Tracey Beaker and binged every film he’d ever been in.
Rewatched as an adult for the anniversary screening with the director, and realised how beautiful it was, and how many things I missed as a 16 year old.

It felt like Nicholas Hoult’s storyline and the nepo baby’s were two different films entirely. BUT-
The cinematography is incredibly beautiful.
There were moments when I audibly gasped at how amazing the colour grading and lighting were so well done. The mix of black and white scenes with dimly lit ones, and how they blended with each other added to the uncomfortable nature of Nosferatu.
