"Baby Girl" feels empty, lacking substance or a compelling narrative. Nicole Kidman, though talented, is miscast; her undeniable beauty and supposed shame over her own body create a contradiction that feels unrealistic and even ridiculous. Moreover, the film fails to be sensual or daring enough to justify its premise. Perhaps an actress like Julianne Moore or Naomi Watts would have been a better fit, but even with them, the script is so weak that I doubt they would have accepted…

Es una película con una foto hermosa, los paisajes ayudan bastante, pero me dejó con una sensación extraña. Siento que tomó un tema muy delicado y lo narró de una forma que podría haber funcionado en cualquier otro contexto de violencia contra pueblos indígenas. Los selk’nam, salvo en una escena, quedan casi en segundo plano. Me hubiese gustado una mirada más centrada en ellos.
