Thoroughly Excellent. Hamish Linklater is incredibly captivating; I immediately want to watch more of his work after this. I'm not a big fan of horror, but this was less focused on the horror elements, more on the story.
The show recontextualises religion (specifically Catholicism) in extraordinary circumstances, which ends up being remarkable for just how ordinary the religious elements appear. For some of the islanders, their religious beliefs are so malleable that there's seemingly no limit to what bizarre happenings…
