Opus dances between an examination of the bizarre psyche of a detached super-celebrity to a full on cult-based horror film. These two things can exist in tandem but Opus never delves deep enough into either entity to offer anything new or deeply thoughtful.

Packed full of heart, humour and a gorgeous oil painting aesthetic; Lilo and Stitch has always been one of Disney’s best. Ultimately, it’s a touching examination of what defines a family and the struggles of keeping one together when times are tough. These heartfelt themes, combined with its charm, are what drive this early 2000s gem to success.

    That was just lovely.

What a wonderful film with some of the best writing I’ve seen in a while. It’s plot meanders along but you feel happy to go with it as we slowly learn more about the three main characters. None of it feels rushed or haphazardly handled and I enjoyed quietly watching the characters grow with nuance and care.

All three deserve recognition, Paul Giamatti and Da’Vine Joy Randolph provided brilliant performances worthy of their established acting calibre.…
