Enjoyed this even more on the rewatch! I felt more emotionally connected this time round and had full body chills quite a few times. Love how the chromatic aberration effect is used here. Also, have to give a mention to the moment where Jessie and Joel look at each other in complete distress in the car after the sequence with Jesse Plemons, the performances there from Cailee Spaeny and Wagner Moura hit just as hard on the rewatch.

So many thoughts and so much to talk about, it’s hard to know where to begin! The score, the tension, the structure, the slow mo, the shots, the anticipation, the ending! Was a little worried at the start on how this would unravel, but I left having thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Zendaya, Mike Faist, and Josh O’Connor are all great, with the tension between Art and Patrick being particularly palpable. There are definitely some creative choices that I wasn’t too sure about, but they didn’t impact my overall experience. Could definitely see a case for some people not enjoying this, but for me it just worked!
