A Man Escaped 1956
Really well shot and some nice formal elements. I think the use of sound for storytelling was genius, I also think some of the framing elements regarding the hands and camera positions also were really good. The plot is simple and straightforward and not too much can be read into the narrative and its WW2 context but I really liked some of the director's decisions and a great performance from the lead. The 3rd act was iconic and makes this one of the best pieces of prison-break media I've experienced.

I wish I liked this more than I do. At times this movie is really sweet and sad and at other times its really boring and I kept looking at my phone ironically enough. I think the concept is really cool and a very interesting story about love. Parts reminded me of some of my favorite romances and how little things mean so much during the process of falling in love.
