A weird blend of my two least favorite Bong Joon-Ho films, Snowpiercer and Okja, and it doesn’t really bring anything new to the table thematically. The film starts strong, but the second half is very messy and too goofy for my taste. Unfortunately, I’m not a big fan of satires and not a big fan of Hollywood Bong 🪳❄️

Babygirl 2024
I think that it’s misleading to call this a thriller (erotic drama would be more fitting), as it lacks the thrills promised by its premise. The Seed of the Sacred Fig 2024
You know it's the Palme d'Or when Ali Abassi is going nuts and clapping the loudest in the whole theatre 🌿
UPDATE:
The Seed of the Sacred Fig was one of the most expected premieres in Cannes due to the backstory of its creation. All We Imagine as Light 2024
All We Imagine As Light is a beautiful and poetic tale of love, friendship and self-discovery by Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia, telling the story of two nurses living in Mumbai who see a little wave of events ripple through their otherwise routinary lives. I really loved the film's color palettes, first of blues, and later reds and greens. It's depiction of city life and urban loneliness. Its gentle soundtrack, pace and characters. It feels like looking out your window on a rainy day and seeing a rainbow form from a timid sunray filtering through the clouds. A fleeting moment of magic 💙✨
