  rewatching quite literally one of my favorite body horror films of all time because the substance had me craving it.

  society is one of those movies that really balances comedy, satire, and the grotesque and gratuitous. a campy, kinky, freaky ride. genuinely way ahead of its time in my book and i think that everyone who got mad at this film for its messaging was def a target of the critique being made.

  a gratuitously delightful, glittery, violent and satirical body horror that violates you every step of the way. coralie fargeat delivers a well constructed satire on the fear of aging and the unrealistic beauty standards that women have to subject themselves to. this film compliments the shallow nature of these standards and how those maintaining the hold in the power dynamic of beauty can be absolutely disgusting inside and out.
