COME ON MAN. The ordinary routine and its brief moments of being broken are so carefully crafted and perfectly build up towards emotional crescendos.
It’s so simple but that leaves so much to be interpreted and taken away. Hirayama also just has such an amazing character with so much to figure out about him left open ended with SUCH an amazing performance omg. THE SCENE WITH HIS SISTER AND NIECE AND THEN THE FINAL SHOT ON HIS FACE GOOOODDD
Just got a new 4k setup in my bedroom and HAD to have this as the first watch I mean cmon Mann was definitely the right choice. This was the Mann that did it for me.
This movie nails what it’s going for and 80s James caan was so perfect for it. And that last 30 min man god damn
They really spent $350m dollars and prevented David lynch from making his last project to adapt a really cool art book, but then straight up got rid of all of the cool ideas and ignored almost all of the art in the book and only saw cool retro robots to put next to Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby brown
