movies are cool, i guess
watch as I expose my mental illnesses on the internet
I’ve had this movie on my watchlist since listening to “The Anthropocene Reviewed” from John Green. I started listening to the podcast when I was working at my University’s library in the Fall of 2020 my first year of school. I frankly don’t remember how I came across the podcast, but I had a coworker suggest I listen to podcasts while I was among the stacks if I got bored of music. I highly suggest the podcast, and sadly there…
It feels bittersweet, being here at the end. So for now, I think I’ll just say: goodbye, all of Evangelion.
Edit: It has been about 20 minutes since I finished the film, and I know if I don't write something about it now I will forever regret it. Also slight spoilers, so beware.
When I started Evangelion, I was not prepared for what I was about to experience. I remember running into it on Netflix and since I had just…
Insanely cheesy especially when the plot is essentially “falling in love with your best friend’s wife (but you’re a girl)” but still a fun watch. Low budget films from the 90s have that same charm that ones from the 00s do and ones now don’t have it as much anymore. I just love lesbians and queer women
John is tired. It shows in everything he does in this one. It was exhausting to watch him be absolutely exhausted, and that’s a compliment.
Mr. Nobody def took the cake as my favorite character in this one and Rina as Akira was amazing, I’m in love.
The extra bit at the ends really made this even more worth the rewatch of the finale. Go to the movies with your friends and be with the people you love. I think we were all born to do just that :)
