don’t watch this.
the plot elements were really well laid out and the paced well. some of the cinematography didn’t work for me, and there were some choppy edits in the first act. also when the detective goes back to the aunt’s house it felt a lot like it only happened to serve the plot and didn’t really make sense for the character. the dad’s discoveries were kind of useless to the plot until the very end. I think there was a bit of a missed opportunity in highlighting how each investigation would be realized with the knowledge of the other.

this one's a doozy, it did draw me in and kept me wondering what was going to happen next, but by the end i was just like wtf was the point. the cinematography and vfx were stunning (save for the end...) and the distinct sections each had an interesting premise/setup but I felt like there was no payoff. near the end it felt like it just devolved into a 10 minute light show that did nothing for the story. i feel…
