Smile 2022
A slightly more modern take on “It Follows”, Smile was a good classic cookie cutter horror that does what it sets out to do. A semi predictable plot but bolstered by a good performance from Sosie Bacon and her supporting cast. Although the movie doesn’t necessarily break any mould, it has a couple of twists that keep you engaged and does a great job of keeping tension high throughout.

Talk to Me 2022
A harrowing depiction of dealing with grief and an inability to let go of the past, Talk To Me is a fresh take on the ‘ouija’ trope so often overdone in modern horror. The movie has an excellent cast, superb acting even from its younger members and an ending that leaves you staring at the credits for quite some time.

Blink Twice 2024
A good choice of movie if you enjoy suspense, mystery and a fair few comedic moments. Blink Twice touches on the themes of feminism, cancelled culture and the looming threat of the oligarchy. Some good acting from the main cast, specifically from Naomi Ackie and moments that genuinely made me laugh whilst keeping tension and mystery high. A throughly enjoyable watch.
