Absolutely overwhelming to the point of exhaustion with how it beats you over the head with this woman’s psychological suffering. Still, Ramsay has such a strong directorial voice and Swinton’s performance is an absolute all timer, so I do still appreciate it despite how repetitive it is getting punched in the face over and over again.

Y Tu Mamá También 2001
I wasn’t sure how I felt about this film during the first half, but by the end everything hit me so hard and left me devastated. I’m going to be replaying those last 15-20 minutes in my head for quite a while wanting to let out all the emotions that this film thrust upon me. Truly a beautiful film whose characters/relationships I will not so easily forget.

The Brutalist 2024
Better on second watch if I’m being completely honest. The swings of the second half and epilogue were already getting better and better in my head the more time passed from my first viewing, but everything clicked into place perfectly this time. Honestly, Adrien Brody delivered my favorite performance I have seen since DDL in There Will Be Blood and I’m not trying to exaggerate.
