This movie’s use of a bright and vibrant color palette before opting to undertake a much more dark and gloomy tone was genuinely genius and Fernanda Torres put on such an incredible display here and showed why she was deserving of her Oscar nom (maybe even deserving of a win) but to me this movie feels entirely dragged down by its runtime and pacing.

Felt like a 3-4 hour movie at times and it felt like the movie itself…

Such a tender movie. You really empathize with Little/Chiron/Black throughout this movie as somebody who’s just looking for any inkling of love and acceptance.

Break the cycle. Really incredible performance(s) especially by Janelle Monáe, Mahershala Ali, & Naomi Harris.

    Very little pay…

I’ve been a fan of Sean Baker as a person in the film space for a VERY LONG TIME but of the two movies I’d seen before this being Tangerine and The Florida Project, neither of them spoke to me like Anora.

Baker doesn’t shy away from using his supporting cast employing the usage of longtime friend and collaborator Karren Karragulian, along with very strong supporting performances from Vatche Tovmasyan & especially Yuri Borisov. The film feels like a sex…
