  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2023

  Was super excited for this but left somewhat disappointed. Too many references and modern lingo that ended up being grating by the end of the movie. Also wasn’t a fan of some of the lore changes. The turtles are still pretty likeable, and I appreciate the attempt to make them more teen-like, but imo the highlights of the movie were Superfly and ofc the animation.

  Overall I just thought they tried too hard to appeal to mainstream audiences. Imo Rise was a better way of refreshing things while staying true to TMNT lore.

  As someone who loves Ragnarok, JoJo Rabbit, and Taika’s works in general, this is probably the most disappointed I’ve ever been walking out of an mcu movie. It was insanely unfunny, had massive tonal issues and pacing issues, way too much was obviously cut out, made weird story decisions, and had some of the worst cgi in all the mcu. I really wanted to like it. Christian Bale as Gorr was a highlight but he was barely in the movie and severely underused. This goes near the bottom of the mcu for me.
