One of my main gripes with this was the fact that there was just no sense of a 70s vibe, something was off with that.
Also it was just flat out boring. Never been too much of a mafia type thriller movie kinda guy, and this was just way too lengthy and uninteresting. Clearly a step down from the banger Silver Linings Playbook was
Had this on my radar for a while but then today I just found out this is set in Fremont (?!?). Lived there for a couple of years and its pretty cool to see a film set where I grew up.
Was partially relatable too although it was a decade before my time. Loved the ups and downs this film takes you through. The second-hand embarrassments were unbearable, can’t believe Sean Wang went through those ups and downs in one month??? Really was a nice touching ending too.
Was just blown away the whole 2nd half of the film. The cinematography and acting is just off the chart, which is added on by an amazing script.
Incredibly audacious and starts slow but my goodness does it start to click after the first 30 minutes or so
