A true example of cinema being so fucking back. From nods to the original Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror to specific choice with the color scheme (becoming less saturated and bleak once Ellen sacrifices herself to Orlok) Robert Eggers did not disappoint one bit. The casting choices were on point; Ellen being played by Lily-Rose Depp was an amazing choice, she has a face for gothic horror.

I don’t know how I went 10 years without ever seeing this movie but tonight I watched it and I can easily say it is now in my top 3 favorite movies. I have never felt as much pain in almost 3 hours as I did during this film. I called my dad afterwards in hysterics because of how good this movie is. Who the fuck allowed Christopher Nolan to make me sob to the point of chest pain? All in all though; beautiful movie, amazing soundtrack, perfect cinematography, and hell dude there’s a Matt Damon jumpscare.
