  probably the best art house film i’ve seen this year - very artsy and i love how the transgender allegories play out, which is clearly the intended meaning. We are supposed to be happy for the protagonist, gaining a family, but we see him decompose and die inside knowing he has suffocated his true identity with a family that simply replace the oppression of his father, and i think that’s beautiful. he quite literally dying to suppress his true female self to let his family live on… a situation she should never have been in the first place.

  holyyyyy fuck i am disappointed. despite feeding shreeshs review on this i decided to purchase it anyway and i fucking regret that. an absolute chore to get through and destroyed all of my favourite characters to the point i have no energy to drag it. terrible horror terrible characterisation ugly cinematography ugly everything. scariest part of the movie was checking the time to discover i had over an hour left

  Although very short, this is a perfect tease for what’s to come. good amount of tension, smooth animation and excellent framing, there’s nothing to dislike. my only gripe is how old jack looks, very glad they changed that in the final show. a timeless piece of animation and one of the best shows of all time
