This review was entirely dependent on whether Disney course-corrected in Episode 8 and 9. They did not.
Instead, they doubled and then tripled down on all of the worst parts of The Force Awakens.
All three films follow the exact same plots as Episodes 4, 5, and 6. There is nothing new.
None of the films fix the character development problems in The Force Awakens.
If the recycled plot and the character problems in The Force Awakens had paid off…
Lazy. Rushed. Exposition-heavy. Incoherent. Random. Unoriginal.
It felt like someone was forced to make the final Star Wars movie but didn't really want to, so they just checked a bunch of boxes and collected a paycheck.
It feels like three movies stuffed into the space of a single movie. Nothing ever lasts long enough for you to get emotionally invested.

(+0.5) - The cinematography and set design were very well done. Everything looked beautiful.
Reasons not to watch (subtract stars):
(-0.5) - Undermines all the story built through Episodes 1-6. According to Episode 8, none of it matters anymore. All the big fights and heroic sacrifices were all pointless.
