As a Star Wars fan this movie is the ugly child my friends and I never speak about unless we want to get into a blistering rage.
I give it a half star for some of the imagery it creates and that excites me in the trailer, but all I’m left with is a soulless, bitter taste.
It seems Disney/RIAN Johnson doesn’t understand the meaning behind “space opera” and instead leans on action/adventure.

Alita: Battle Angel 2019
Not a bad film, the story could have been a little better and I lost myself in the size of Alitas eyes every now and then. The action was the best part with some great cg however there are some scenes that still don’t blend well with it or get stuck in the “uncanny valley”. Props for sticking to anime-style maturity and tones kept throughout the movie unlike how Ghost in the Shell turned out. Only thing that ruins this…

Velvet Buzzsaw 2019
A great atmosphere that makes me want to learn how to speak better. Characters are intriguing and the way the movie is filmed has a fun and brush-stroked flow. I was entertained but not entirely thrilled. 4/5 stars, a great time if your looking for slight suspense and entertainment.
