  It was like I was in that one episode of the simpsons where they're on that game show and then they are going across the bridge and they fall into the lava but it's fake. But in my dream I was on the bridge and the wicked witch of the west was there too and she was the one that made me fall off the bridge.…

  Heart pounding stuff. Keeps you guessing the whole film and I think it worked super well. The bridge scene made me audibly gasp with how well it worked. Some of the photography was impeccable, especially amongst that sunset... really enjoyed this.

  Three people are alone for the holidays. One who feels abandoned. One who's lost everyone. One who never had anyone. All of them lonely. They have nothing in common, yet they find company in each other. 

  Like a cold beer on a hot summers day, or a hot chocolate with marshmallows in the depth of the winter. A simple story, with a complex narrative. Thematically rich and stylistically creative. The Holdovers is seldom dull, and deserves the credit it gets.
