  Close to 7 years ago I went on a trip to Poland. The experience was unforgettable and heartbreaking. Majdanek is one of those places that has stuck in my mind, and this film captures the feeling of being in such a haunting place that’s also so still.   Bad narration and weird retreading of vampires with a bit of mixed messaging and dialogue that feels like a 40 year old wrote it. Some decent animation moments but exposition that was delivered with a fist in their mouth. At least we can all collectively say, “oh, that’s where Keith David had been this whole time?”

  I’m a little surprised by how negative the reaction to this is. It could be that I didn’t see any promotional material. Maybe Selma Hyak and Owen Wilson weren’t the best for the roles, but I found myself connecting with the story and thought it was a lot less complicated than some people were saying.
