Pattinson is my ride or die, and what a performance (that accent was elite!). The film overall, tho, did not meet my expectations. I may have expected too much after Bong’s long hiatus. The depth of ideas and social commentary were what you’d expect from Bong, but the execution didn’t quite work for me. Interested to see if this one hits different on a rewatch with curbed expectations. Still a Bong Joon Ho film and a must watch for film heads everywhere.

Mesmerizing, committed performances. And I loved the musical numbers and depiction of the period (I’m a sucker for 60s New York and early Dylan is my favorite Dylan) but the story/script? Lackluster and mid. Dylan deserves better, and already got it with I’m Not There. While imperfect, that film, in my opinion, brilliantly captures the multitudes and complexities of Bobby. Still, Timmy murders it and deserves his flowers. The next DiCaprio has arrived.
