  The constant use of film clips feels like a lengthening play and in many scenes cuts against actual accumulating narrative tension. 

  The narration can be often grating and have a self-important, professor-unloading-at-a-Manhattan-rep-screening-Q&A feel. 

  BUT

  As a clerk for years at the christopher st location, where Kim’s was one of my first introductions to the city and my first real job (seeing mounds of moldy porno boxes, damn the memories hit hard there), having figured the collection was lost and reading only occasional updates and speculation… hell yeah to these folks, doing the lords work
