  Every new fire season in California always brings the statement “We’ve never seen anything like this before” from veteran firefighters. Growing up in NorCal I’m accustomed to seeing devastating fires more and more often. Summers choked with ash, blood red skies, emergency vehicles caravan across the state. The near unimaginable task of fighting these ever increasing scorching behemoths falling on the shoulders of what equates to 18-20 year old slaves is fucking reprehensible.

The question was something like “Do pop culture classes provide any meaningful insight” and I talked about how this movie is a analogy for the Cold War. I ran out of time before I could explain it’s important to understand history and culture as a lens for understanding the present and pop culture as a whole. I got 1627/2100 im bad at math
