  The bones are there, and you’re in technically competent hands, but there’s a lot of “slow zoom on people’s faces while a famous song is being played” as shorthand for dramatic development and it gets a bit old. 

  Also, I realise that it was clearly felt that there needed to be the big conventional final set piece, but in this context the action felt slightly Disney Channel movie? School-principal-shutting-down-the-talent-show vibes….

  This is such a masterclass. How is it so sparse and uncluttered yet also so complex, but still nuanced? And the framing, man, the framing. Mmm, you taste that right there? Cinematic sustenance.
